Commercial real estate company Colliers International Group Inc. has hired James “Ashley” Compton to serve as the firm’s national director of self storage investment sales through its Nashville, Tenn., office. Compton most recently served as a first vice president in the Nashville office of CBRE Group Inc., a commercial real estate services and investment firm.
During his 10 years at CBRE, Compton sold or listed more than 9.9 million square feet of self storage property across the United States, which was valued at more than $632 million, the source reported. He was chosen as the firm’s top national self storage broker in 2014 and 2015. During his tenure, he represented Bank of America, GE Capital, Regions Bank and U-Haul International Inc., among others.
“Ashley has established himself as a key national leader in self storage investment, and we are delighted he will be joining our team at Colliers,” Janet Miller, CEO and market leader for Colliers Nashville, told the source. “He will be a great addition to our team, taking on a national leadership role for Colliers International.”
At Colliers Nashville, Compton will join a team of about 40 brokers working on industrial, investment, multi-family, office and retail property sales. The firm leases and manages more than 12 million square feet of commercial space in Middle Tennessee, according to the source.
Compton earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi and holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and real estate from the University of Memphis.
